I LOVE LUCY!

I was in Cafe Grumpy yesterday and I stumbled upon this gorgeous vintage bag! Our lovely model Lucy showed it off. She got it from one of the best vingage places in the East Village called Buffalo Exchange. They have TONS of cute vintage clothing, shoes and hats. They also carry designer wear as well. Check it out and let me know what you bought!

What do you think of Lucy's Bag?

CHANNELING AUDREY HEPBURN...

This Saturday, on the way to doing anything else but shopping, I found myself at the Goodwill on 25th Street off 6th ave NYC. I walked in to take a peek at their new inventory...totally NOT expecting to see anything I might like (I lie to myself constantly). Of course I found something I liked will the obsession ever stop?

Like most other Goodwill stores in upscale areas of town, you will occasionally stumble upon designer duds like Chanel, Diane Von Furstenberg, Fendi and Marc Jacobs marked down to nearly pennies on the dollar! I say all this to say take your butt to a Goodwill every once in a while...just for your own good will.

Also, if you are in the area, keep in mind that this particular Goodwill will except returns in exchange for store credit which is ALWAYS good to know (yessss)!

Unfortunately, (maybe fortunately) while I didn't end up buying anything designer this time around, I  did see the MOST fantastic rendition of an Audrey Hepburn dress with a matching jacket. I would pair it with the following......

Wool dress and matching jacket $25

Gold tone necklace (can also be worn as a belt) Jack's 99 Cent Store $0.99
Michael Kors watch $195
Earrings (bought 12 years ago) random jewelry store about $100

I would also pair this with a white shirt...as the fall season progresses

White Calvin Klein shirt Filene's Basement $20
Egyptian style necklace (I bought about 5 years ago) JC Penny $25
Matching earrings (I bought about 5 years ago) JC Penny $15
Bracelet (I bought about 6 years ago) Bolton's $15

***HUGE DISCLAIMER***
When you are shopping at a Goodwill or any second hand / vintage store PLEASE make sure you check all your garments for small holes, tears AND stains! After I bought this dress I noticed that it has a few small holes (from moths). I will have it repaired as best as I can considering the circumstances....

***HUGER DISCLAIMER***
Bedbug ALERT!! If you live in NYC please MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE that you keep your new garments tightly sealed in a plastic bag until you are able to go to the dry cleaner.

Let me know if you stumble across any deals this weekend! Happy Shopping!!

I'M BACK!!

Hi Ladies!!

I'm officially back! Sorry it took so long. I've been super busy but thinking about you everyday!

I MUST tell you of my recent shopping adventure! Yesterday I took the day off from my super duper demanding job and went to the Salvation Army on 8th ave and 22nd street in Chelsea, NYC to do some "window shopping."

Obviously my attempt at "window shopping" failed miserably as I bought 2 really cute dresses....none of which I need...but everything I WANT! Both purchases totaled a combined $17 so in actuality I saved money; this according to Former President George W. Bush's fuzzy math. Go figure...
I would wear this outfit to work and pair it with either black suede 'peep toe' pumps or suede (maybe even leather) short healed boots...

1950's inspired "June Cleaver" dress by Isaac Mizrahi for Target (limited edition) $8.99
Suede belt $0.99 from Jack's .99 cent store

Anne Klein bracelet watch (I bought over 8 years ago) about $50 (no longer available)
Vintage  'airloom' earrings (I bought over 10 years ago on Saint Marks Place NYC) about $10

I would wear the dress below to work and possibly even carry it over to the weekend by pairing it with a black belt, black pumps or knee high boots and chunky silver jewelry.

Knit jersey dress $8.99 (marked down to $4.99)
Grey suede belt $2.99
Grey boots (I bought about 6 years ago) Miss Sixty about $165 no longer available

Michael Kors ivory watch (I bought last year) $195
Yamak jeweled necklace (I bought last week (23rd and Broadway NYC)) $35
JCPenny jeweled earrings (I bought about 5 years ago) about $8

Until next time...Happy Shopping!
