Lions and Tigers and Buffalo…Oh my!
Yesterday I visited Buffalo Exchange located in the East Village on 8th street between 1st and 2nd. For those of you who don’t know Buffalo Exchange, it is a curious little consignment shop consisting of about 50 stores nationwide where clothing and accessories are bought, sold and traded directly with store customers. What makes Buffalo Exchange extra special is not the multitude of great finds at super ridiculously low prices but the care they take in giving back to the community. For example, Buffalo Exchange will donate $.05 of your purchase to a local charity if you choose to forgo your plastic bag. In addition, they also participate in a fur donation drive called, "Coats for Cubs" where fur apparel and accessories can be donated The Humane Society of the United States. The donated furs will be used to provide bedding and comfort to orphaned and injured wildlife. You Go Buffalo Exchange! Sidebar: I pump my first (like Arsenio Hall) for organizations that love the animals but honey, I still love my furs. Let's not get that twisted. Sorry PETA ::::(
The store is small but packed to the brim with everything from Giorgio Armani, to Coach, Tahari, Diesel, Adrienne Vittadini, etc. Think of a really small Marshall’s, but a bit more organized with pleasant sales people and less “corporate entity-ish.” The prices are sick and the clothes are even sicker! It’s definitely worth the trip! Here's what I spotted!
Coach Sneakers $30
Green Suede Jacket (No Name) $22.50
Striped Shirt (Alfred Dunner) $12.50 and Pink Suede Boots (Palomo) $48.00 (black belt not for sale)
Giorgio Armani fitted blazer $24.00
Viridis Luxe long cardigan $30.00
River Island knit poncho with shoulder "cut-outs" $11.00
(No Name ) cowboy boot $26.00
B.E. is now my favorite store in the world. I am going to buy a tent and camp out in true stalker fashion (no pun intended). They get new shipments every minute and you never know when you might find the love of your life!
*Later this week I plan to visit the Salvation Army Thrift Store in Hells Kitchen. Stay tuned...
